NEACH Announces Laurance A. Selnick of Webster Bank as New Board Chair

BURLINGTON, MA, June 13, 2018 — The New England Automated Clearing House (NEACH) today announced the election of Laurance A. Selnick, CTP, Senior Vice President at Webster Bank, as Chair of the Board. NEACH, a non-profit trade association, provides training, education, and support services to its member institutions and other New England entities to increase the use and quality of electronic payments.

“Larry brings a passion for payments and expertise in non-profit governance to his role as chair,” says Sean Carter, President and CEO of NEACH. “We look forward to his leadership in guiding the Board as it supports NEACH’s continued growth in today’s evolving financial services industry.”

An active board member since 2002, Selnick joined the Executive Committee of NEACH in 2016. In this capacity, he most recently oversaw much of the organization’s strategic planning process, where he ensured broad stakeholder engagement. Selnick’s innate ability to draw diverse parties together, coupled with his depth of understanding of NEACH’s strategic goals, make him an ideal candidate to assume the position of chair.

“Larry’s leadership of NEACH’s strategic plan review process and the level of stakeholder engagement reflect a major milestone for NEACH and its members,” says outgoing Chair Steve Whitney, Executive Vice President, Risk Management, Deposit Operations and Information Technology at Norway Savings Bank.

“I am honored to serve as Chair of the Board for NEACH,” says Selnick. “NEACH brings a strategic perspective to the industry that extends beyond providing education, training, and support for its members, including Webster Bank and our customers. NEACH holds an important place in the payment ‘think tank,’ and I look forward to contributing to its ongoing success and influence in the industry.”

Selnick is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), a professional accreditation of the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP). He is also a recent graduate of Quinnipiac University where he earned a Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership. With continued emphasis on education, Selnick recently assumed the role of adjunct professor at Southern Connecticut State University where he focuses on leadership, strategy, and the empowerment of not-for-profit organizations.
